There is a growing argument whether movies directly correlate with gun violence. Although there hasn’t been a real consensus regarding this argument, some celebrities aren’t afraid to show that they fully support the 2nd amendment, having a gun collection of their own.
These celebrities believe that anyone who tampers with the 2nd amendment tampers with civil freedom, and they are not afraid to stand up for their beliefs. One of these celebrities is Brad Pitt.
Brad Pitt
Brad Pitt has been in numerous movies that depicted history. Movies like Fury have their characters carrying iconic and historical firearms with ease. Other films such as World War Z also have Brad Pitt using guns as an expert. It turns out, Brad Pitt has his own set of firearms, and he isn’t afraid to use them.
For Brad, he claims that owning a gun was a rite of passage from where he came from. Interestingly enough, he received his grandfather’s shotgun when he hit grade school and shot his first gun when he was eight years old. Moreover, after all the movies he had been in, he started to believe that the world we live in is violent and that the only way we can protect ourselves is by having guns.
The 2nd amendment isn’t a mere privilege for Brad but a necessity. He’s one of the firm believers that guns found the U.S., and gun ownership should remain the same way as it did before. Another firm believer of the 2nd amendment and owns a firearm herself is Brad’s former wife, Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie
We’ve seen Angelina in a couple of action movies before. We’ve seen that she knows how to handle her guns. Her former husband, Brad Pitt, also gave her a shooting range, with some of the best systems in indoor shooting as a wedding gift to compliment her love for guns. It’s been rumored that she still uses the shooting range up to this day.
Angelina enjoys shooting guns and considers it to be therapeutic. Much like her former husband, she is also an avid believer that a household can only be protected with personal firearms. However, unlike Brad Pitt, it’s unknown as to when she started to have an obsession with guns. Some people believe it was when he took up the role of Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider series.
She loves guns so much that she had a customized gun made by Jesse James from Jesse James Firearms Unlimited. The pistol, which was a Cisco 1911, had an engraving stating “Mama Knows Best.”
Tom Selleck
We all know of Tom Selleck from the hit series in the 1980s, Magnum P.I. His role was to play Investigator Thomas Magnum, who wasn’t a stranger to guns. It turns out Selleck wasn’t either.
Tom Selleck has a huge gun collection which he partially sold to the NRA for about $400,000. It had 17 collectible firearms. This shows how much of a gun enthusiast Selleck has been throughout the years. He is also a pro-gun activist, believing that every American should have the right to own any gun they want.
Although he has resigned as one of the board of directors of the NRA, he still continues to believe in pro-gun ideals. He continues to support the NRA from the background and continues to collect guns up to this day.
Eric Clapton
Another celebrity that has a sizeable gun collection is Eric Clapton. He is considered to be one of the most influential guitarists of all time, but in the background, he is an avid gun collector.
Eric has had multiple customized guns in his collection for quite some time now. Quite recently, he has sold some of his guns, which are expected to cost around 500,000 Euros. The guns that were sold were just a part of his sizeable collection of over twenty guns.
However, unlike some celebrities, Eric believes that the hobby of gun collecting and shooting down the range are social activities. He believes that it’s more of a social activity than fishing and that shooting has taught him how to interact with a fellow man better than any other hobby in the world.
Gun collections and shooting down the range is one of America’s favorite pastimes, and this article shows that celebrities enjoy it too! From Brad Pitt to Eric Clapton, everyone can enjoy guns regardless of their social identity or privilege. Moreover, just like Eric claims, the act of collecting guns can be a fun social activity as well.
